For those of you who love challenging your ability against other riders on a course where rocks, mud, trees, water, and bridges become no less of an obstacle than the intense training sessions you have endured throughout the off season; all while acknowledging the rigning of cowbells and clapping of hands from teammates and supporters. Chevy Trucks NORBA National Championship Series

The premier mountain bike racing series in the United States, the National Championship Series offers top-notch racing to world-class professionals and amateur races consisting of cross-country (XC), downhill (DH) and dual slalom (DS) events.

This year, NORBA adds to their wide array of challenging courses by including Durango, Colorado as a Championship venue!


May 9-12: Snow Summit Mountain Resort (Big Bear Lake, Calif.)

June 20-23: Snowshoe Mountain, W.Va.
August 1-4: Durango, Colo.

EFTA New England Championship Series

The Eastern Fat Tire Association promotes and sanctions mountain bike races, recreational bicycle "fun" rides, and works on New England mountain bike trail access issues. EFTA is nonprofit; all moneys generated are returned to New England mountain biking.

AMBC (American Mountain Bike Challenge)

AMBC events are good places for those riders who are just entering the racing scene. The races allow riders to test their abilities in a low-key atmosphere, without a lot of pressure. The pro and expert races give more experienced riders a taste of real competition, as they face some of the most challenging courses and talented riders in the country.

Off the trails, AMBC events provide a fun atmosphere that sometimes includes family rides, pasta feeds, concerts and other outdoor fun.

UCI World Cup

The ever-evolving World Cup mountain bike schedule looks to be set for 2002. The newest additions include a stop in Telluride, Colo., for the fifth round of the downhill and 4X series. The event is part of the Telluride 360 Adventure Festival. The World Championship Series offers superb and challenging racing to world-class professionals and amateur athletes consisting of cross-country (XC), downhill (DH) and dual slalom (DS) events held at the best venues across the globe.

All participants will be automatically entered into Plattekill Point Series
in each event - points will carry over to all races. Lowest score or 1
