The '03 Tour De Belknap ride went off without a hitch, despite the occassional rain that made for some rough riding. 18 riders made it the largest tour to date! There were a few issuses with people (me for instance) getting lost for over an hour over some nasty hike-a-bike sections, but it was good to get out and ride with some cool people. Thank you for everyone who showed. Hopefully next year we will have better organization in anticipation for a big ride.
Chris' Recap: The tour was originally scheduled for Sunday however with rain threatening all week, we moved the ride up a day in hope of sunshine. Clouds ruled the sky for most of the day which kept the riding nice and cool...at points making it darn right cold when you had to stop for a while (top of Gunstock must have been 50 degrees!). Despite the cool temps, the ride was without a doubt incredible. Some of the most technical climbs I have seen in a long time and steeper then hell at that! There was a few hike-a-bike sections, but the sweet downhill sections made up for it. This years tour went off without a hitch. The people were great and the riding was even better. This was probably the strongest abd best ride we had over the past 6 years. From climbing to the top of Gunstock to cruising over the rock slabs and then pounding back some beer and burgers at the BBQ afterwards, this years ride was a great one and shouldn't have been missed.
